Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil film D55, directed by Amaran filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy, is reportedly set to feature Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a prominent role. While the makers are yet to officially confirm the development, the buzz has significantly raised expectations around the project.

The film is being formally launched today, marking a key milestone for the much-awaited project. D55 features Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in prominent lead roles, with Sai Abhyankkar composing the music. Netflix has reportedly acquired the film’s OTT rights.

If the reports turn out to be true, D55 will mark the first full-fledged on-screen collaboration between Dhanush and Mammootty, apart from Dhanush’s earlier cameo in Kammath & Kammath.
