Music composer AR Rahman is beginning 2025 with the January 14 Tamil film release titled Kadhalikka Neramillai, which recently had an audio launch event conducted in Chennai. In-between performing songs at the Kadhalikka Neramillai audio launch, AR Rahman also took time to thank everyone who were there to witness the release of his latest album.
Tamil film music composer Anirudh Ravichander was one of these names, and a video of AR Rahman singing praises of the youngster, and extending solid advice to Anirudh is currently doing the rounds on the internet.
"Anirudh is doing good music folks. It is no ordinary feat to give hits after hits to big movies. 10,000 composers these days, back in my days it used to be just 10 composers. If one is standing out in this, it cannot be without talent. So appreciate your talent.", said AR Rahman.
He also praised Anirudh for his humility in putting AR Rahman on a pedestal, back when Anirudh 'replacing' AR Rahman on the Indian franchise of movies was a big topic in the Tamil filmdom. In 2019, Anirudh Ravichander while giving an update on his work in Indian 2, had spoken about the inadvertent comparisons with AR Rahman's Indian. Anirudh also chose to show respect to his senior by stating, "A leader is a leader, a disciple is a disciple".

AR Rahman recalled this by stating, "He is extremely confident to state 'Thalaivan Thalaivan Dhaan Thondan Thondan Dhaan'. One has to have a lot of humility to say that. God Bless you with more success (Anirudh)."
AR Rahman appreciates Anirudh for doing good music for big hero films but also gives a friendly advice to learn and do more classical & raga based music which has more longevity; the younger/ next generation will also learn from it. #ARRahman #Anirudh pic.twitter.com/9nn6W7ovGE

After this AR Rahman extended some solid advice to Anirudh Ravichander with respect to his music. "Also my request to you (Anirudh) is, you have to learn more classical music, and do more songs with classical music. With Raagas, Carnatic (music), Hindustani (music), then the longevity (of musical work) will be like much more. I hope to see you really thrive in that also. Because when you do it, the younger generation does it, and it reaches the younger generation. Thank you."
