Leading Tamil actress Nayanthara packed a lot of personal and professional anguish against Tamil star actor Dhanush, when in a three page open letter released on November 16, 2024, Nayanthara said,
"The vengeance that you (Dhanush K Raja) have been festering against the film (Netflix's Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale), my partner (Vignesh Shivan) and I (Nayanthara), doesn't just affect us but the people who have given their effort and time towards this project.
It is understandable if it is business compulsions and monetary issues that mandate your denial; but it hurts that this decision of yours is only to vent out your personal grudge against us.
We were startled to read those lines wherein you questioned the usage of some videos (just 3 seconds) which were shot in our personal devices and that too BTS visuals that are already very much publicly present on social media and claimed a sum of Rs.10 crores as damages for the mere 3 seconds.
Leaving apart business competition, prominent persons in public life largely do not tamper with others' private lives. Courtesy and decency mandates large hearted behavior in such matters...Through this letter I only wish and pray that you come to peace with your inner self over the success of some people whom you knew from the past."
Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, a part-scripted documentary drama released on November 18, 2024 with the disputable footages included. Recently actor Dhanush's Wunderbar Films moved the Madras High Court, in which the judge permitted for Netflix's Mumbai based to be included in the case in Chennai, which revealed that Dhanush intends to sue Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and the Netflix OTT platform for the unauthorized use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan foootages.
However, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's legal representative Rahul Dhawan, Managing Partner at Lex Chambers has stated in the media, "Our response is that there is no infringement or violation because what has been utilised by us in the docu-series is not part of the behind-the-scenes (of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan film). The same is part of the personal library. Therefore, this is not an infringement",
Now, Nayanthara in a cryptic post has taken a hit at Dhanush once again. Her Instagram story shared November 29, 2024 reads,
