Raayan written, directed and headlined by actor Dhanush, is the Tamil star's 50th film that is releasing in theaters on July 26, 2024. In Tamil Nadu, movie theaters are allowed to screen upto 4 shows a day unless it is the weekend or a government-approved holiday, and filmmakers need to get special permissions in the event of wanting an extra show during normal days.  

Raayan is releasing on a Friday, and the Tamil Nadu government has approved Sun Pictures' request of screening 5 shows on the opening day of Raayan's release. This means that Raayan's first show will begin at 9 AM in Tamil Nadu, and on day 1, Raayan will have a maximum of 5 shows that will run till 2 AM.
