Thangalaan starring actor Vikram in the lead is an upcoming period action drama, that was initially scheduled to release in theaters on January 26, 2024. The movie co-written and directed by Pa. Ranjith has since been officially postponed to April and June, but there have been no concrete announcements on the new Thangalaan release date. 

Latest we hear, Thangalaan makers are eying either June 20, 2024 [Thursday] or July 25, 2024 [Thursday] for hitting theater screens. Seemingly, Thangalaan's satellite rights deal was cancelled by Sun TV, after Thangalaan makers kept delaying the end product. And without a satellite partner, the makers are finding it difficult to fix on a theatrical release date. 

It remains to be seen if the movie produced by Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions, KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and Jio Studios releases anytime soon. It is worth mentioning here that one of Thangalaan's prospective release dates i.e. July 25 is around the same time another postponed (July 26) Tamil movie (Raayan) is releasing. 

If the makers go in for July 25 as the Thangalaan release date, then a Vikram Vs Dhanush box-office clash is in the offing.
