The trailer for Vishwanath & Sons is out, and it reveals far more about the film's story than earlier promotional material had suggested. Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, a competitive pistol shooter who wins gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics — only for his world to be upended when his only child is diagnosed with a grave illness. This forces him to reconnect with the child's surrogate mother, played by Mamitha Baiju, a relationship he has been reluctant to pursue out of fear of it falling apart. The trailer hints at the emotional journey of the two characters finding their way to each other.
Directed by Venky Atluri and reuniting Suriya with composer GV Prakash Kumar after Soorarai Pottru, the film also stars Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser and others. Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, Vishwanath & Sons releases on August 14.
MovieCrow Take: The trailer carries a blockbuster vibe — heartwarming, perfectly cast and packed with everything family audiences would love. Suriya looks set to continue his winning streak with another big hit.
