Actor Dhanush's 50th film Raayan, which he has written, directed and played lead in, was scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on June 13, 2024 [Thursday]. The film's release has now been postponed, and the new Raayan release date is July 26, 2024 [Friday]. Sun Pictures, the production banner behind Raayan is expected to make an official announcement on the release date change soon. 

Set against the backdrop of North Chennai, Raayan also stars Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Saravanan among others. 

The movie has AR Rahman for music.
