An official announcement regarding Ayalaan 2 - sequel to Sivakarthikeyan's January 12 release Ayalaan, dropped on Tuesday. Ayalaan 2 reunites actor Sivakarthikeyan with director R. Ravikumar and production banners KJR Studios and Phantom FX Studios. The announcement reveals that the makers have allocated Rs. 50 Cr. for the budget of Ayalaan 2's VFX and CGI alone. 

Phantom FX Studios has revealed that the Ayalaan 2 agreement was signed on January 18, 2024. It remains to be seen if the outer space alien who came to be known as 'Tattoo' in Ayalaan will return for Ayalaan 2.

A sci-fi eco thriller comedy, Ayalaan is currently in its day 12 of theatrical run and is gearing up for a Telugu version release on January 26 i.e. Republic day, 2024. Ayalaan is expected to make its OTT premiere on Sun Nxt streaming platform in Tamil.
