7 Screen Studios has begun their next production after their mega outing Leo this year, and this new movie titled LIC (Love Insurance Corporation) has been launched with an official pooja ceremony. LIC is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan and was initially supposed to star Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. SK 17 (working title) was announced under Lyca Productions on March 21, 2019, and by end of June, 2019 Vignesh Shivan had updated that it took him 'a while' to complete the screenplay, dialogues of the film.

However Lyca soon backed out of funding the project, and Vignesh Shivan went on to direct part of an OTT anthology titled Paava Kathaigal (2020) and a feature with Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Nayanathara titled Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022).   

Now in December 2023, it has been officially announced that Vignesh Sivan has revived LIC, but with actor Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead. SK 17 music composer Anirudh has been retained, while LIC's technical crew also has Ravi Varman for cinematography, Pradeep E Ragav for edits. 

Krithi Shetty plays female lead in LIC, which also stars SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu among others.
