Kanguva starring actor Suriya in the lead is an upcoming production venture of Studio Green, UV Creations, and the movie is touted to be the lead star's costliest budget film yet. A fictional story set in an 18th centure imaginary world 1500 years ago, Kanguva refers to a man with the power of fire and is written, directed by Siva. 

Latest Kanguva updates suggest that the movie will begin its next schedule of shooting from June 20, 2023. This schedule is expected to go on for a week or more at EVP Studio, Chennai. Overall shooting of Kanguva is estimated to extend till November this year, since every schedule requires elaborate set-planning and execution.  

Talk in the trade also suggests that Kanguva is expected to release in theaters only by Summer of 2024 after elaborate VFX work. The movie also stars Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandraj, KS Ravikumar among others, and will see Suriya is multiple roles, 5 of which are named Arathar, Venkaater, Mukaatar, Mandaankar and Perumanathar. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for Kanguva. 

Kanguva is scheduled to release in 10 languages and in 3D as well. The OTT rights of the film in South Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada have been sold to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping Rs. 80 Cr.
