If buzz in the industry is anything to go by, then the overseas rights of actor Vijay's upcoming movie Leo has sold for a record price of Rs. 60 Cr. to Phars Films. Two of the biggest Kollywood films of 2022 - Ponniyin Selvan and Vikram starring Kamal Haasan yielded a share of Rs. 60 Cr. and Rs. 52 Cr. in overseas regions. So in Tamil movie terms, Phars' price for Leo film is quite the bet. 

Leo written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is touted to be a gangster drama placed in Lokesh's cinematic universe or the LCU. Karthi starrer Kaithi and Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram are the other 2 movies in this universe. Leo is produced by 7 Screen Studio and also stars Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan among others. 

The film is scheduled to release in theaters on October 19, 2023, and has Anirudh for music.
