KH 234: Twitter reacts to Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam reunion after 35 years!

Actor Kamal Haasan celebrates his 68th birthday today and over the weekend, the actor took the film world by storm by announcing the most unexpected project to come out of the Tamil film industry. For his 234th film (KH 234), Kamal Haasan is reuniting with filmmaker Mani Ratnam; The duo's reunion comes 35 years since they made the iconic 1987 gangster drama Nayakan, which went on to win 3 National awards, including best actor for Kamal Haasan. 


"I was equally excited 35 years before when I was about to start work with Mr.Mani Ratnam. Collaborating with a similar mindset is stimulating. This stimulation includes Mr. Rahman as well. Eagerly looking forward to present this venture with Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin." - Kamal Haasan in an official KH 234 press release

 

"Script for Kamal Haasan is a huge task you know. He's done everything and unless I have something really special, better to offer how can I go and stand in front of him..We've talked about it a few times (over the 35 years) but it should be something special. KH 234 is a joint production venture of Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. AR Rahman is composing music for this film and he is also reuniting with Kamal Haasan 22 years since Thenali (2000).
