ET Press Meet: Suriya talks Ukraine, 4 AM Shows & a lot more!

Before the launch of Etharkkum Thunindhavan (ET) trailer today, the team held a press-meet (as reported by MovieCrow) and lead actor Suriya was seen with film's director Pandiraj and co-stars Priyanka Mohan, Sathyaraj among others at the event. Highlights of Suriya's speech at the ET press meet here:


  • Suriya began his speech by addressing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine** and requested a one minute prayer for the safe return of Indians from the war-hit zone.

** - Ukraine is staring at a major humanitarian crisis after Russian forces launched a full-blown invasion on February 24. Among the many civilians who have lost their lives is a 21 year old Indian student who died during a missile strike in Kharkiv on Tuesday. 16000+ Indian students currently remain stranded.


  •  Suriya stared that Etharkkum Thunindhavan is an apt theater film. Incidentally, the movie marks the actor's first big screen release after 2 and a half years.

"I’ve waited to come to theaters, for the past two years. I wanted a correct film to come to the big screens, and director has given me that. We shot the film during the lockdown, I am extremely thankful to the unit who helped the shoot."


  • Suriya confirmed that ET will have 4 AM shows in Tamil Nadu.

 

  • Calling his fans 'Etharkkum Thunindhavargal' (people with boldness for anything), the actor said that Etharkkum Thunindhavan is a film that are made for fans. He said that the film will highlight an important topic that is pushed under the rug in several households.

 

  • Suriya had a word of praise of his female lead Priyanka Mohan's performance in ET. He said that it adds more weightage to the movie, acknowledging on a lighter note that she was in third standard in school when Kaakha Kaakha (Suriya's 2003 hit) released.

  • Suriya ended his speech by stating that he will soon be starting his next projects - an untitled Bala film and Vaadivaasal with director Vetrimaaran.
