Earlier today we reported that Ajith's upcoming movie AK 61 [tentative title] is all set to go on floors from March 9, 2022 and that the title of the movie will also be unveiled on the same day. We had also reported that Ajith plays a character with grey shades and now it has been revealed that Ajith will be donning this role in a heist-based action thriller set-up.

AK 61 is Ajith's third collaboration with director H. Vinoth and previously he had said that the movie will tackle an important social issue that people all over the world face. Currently team AK 61 is in the process of finalizing its cast with names like Pooja Hegde, Tabu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Prakash Raj, Mohanlal, Aditi Rao Hydari. 

Pinkvilla reports that Mohanlal's association to AK 61 is for the role of a police commissioner, for which 5-6 other senior actors like Nagarjuna are also in talks. The movie produced by Boney Kapoor is eyeing Pongal, 2023 for release.
