We had previously reported that Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi is reprising Ajith's role in the Telugu remake of 2015 Tamil hit Vedalam and that director Meher Ramesh is helming it. Earlier today Meher Ramesh confirmed that he is indeed directing Chiranjeevi for his next movie and that an official announcement on the project will be made tomorrow at 9:00 AM, marking the actor's birthday.
Ramabrahmam Sunkara of AK Entertainments is producing this film, which tentatively goes by Chiru 154. Apparently AK Entertainments has registered the title Bhola Shankar with the film chamber and it is expected that the same will be announced on Sunday as well.
Vedalam, originally written by director Siva is about how a ruthless gangster who now leads a peaceful life, sets out to end a criminal network for the safety of his foster sister. The original movie also starred Lakshmi Menon and Shruthi Haasan among others.
