Venkat Prabhu was recently heard speaking to his fans on Twitter spaces and the director made a statement about his upcoming movie Maanaadu. "We have tried something new (with Maanaadu). There is no connection to TENET. It is a completely different genre. If you follow cinema on a regular basis, this may not be new but locally it is not something that is touched often."

Venkat Prabhu further elaborated that because of Silamabarasan TR, the reach for the genre is expected to be wide. "Usually this genre is not used in big-scale projects. Because we are using a bigger production level, I think Manaadu's level of reach will be more. It is new even for STR." 

Maanaadu is currently gearing up for its first single release (by Yuvan Shankar Raja) on May 14, 2021. The film which is a production venture of Suresh Kamatchi also stars  Kalyani Priyadarshan, SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Premgi Amaren and Karunakaran among others.
