A few weeks ago, the 50th Kerala State Film Awards released their winners list and among the movies that took home multiple awards was Android Kunjappan Version 5.25. Written and directed by debutant Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, the movie was a story about how an elderly person in need of attention and affection forms a bond with an AI humanoid. 

Reportedly, the film is being remade in Tamil and director K.S. Ravikumar will be producing the same. It is worth mentioning here that the only other time the veteran director took 'producer' avatar was in 2000 when he bankrolled the Kamal Haasan starrer Thenali.

It is also being said that an associate of K.S. Ravikumar's will be directing Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 Tamil remake while an official announcement on the details await.
