Following the wide-spread debate about Ponmagal Vandhal's direct OTT release on Amazon Prime, it is being said that more Tamil films are considering that route, given the estimate on Tamil film industry's lockdown. Buzz is that Santhanam's Server Sundaram and Trisha starrer Paramapadham Vilayattu, both of which are movies that have struggled to find theatrical release are expected to have a direct OTT launch.

While there have been no official announcements, it is expected that Server Sundaram will most likely land up on Zee5 Tamil. It is worth mentioning here that recently Raghava Lawrence directed Bollywood movie Laxxmi Bomb was also in the news for considering direct launch on Disney Plus Hotstar. However the makers of Ranveer Singh's 83 which was also rumoured to follow the same have refuted any such developments.
