The ongoing novel Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had brought about major changes in the shooting and release plans of big movie projects across the world and Ajith starrer Valimai happens to be one of them. The 'Thala' actor's action-entertainer which was expected to be a Diwali release this year might not release in 2020 at all for all we know. 

The halt in shooting and the change in the team's plans to shoot overseas suggests that the movie will most likely target the earliest holiday release next year. So it shouldn't come as a surprise if director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor announce on releasing Valimai during Pongal, 2021.  

Also starring Pavel Navageethan and 100 actor Raj Ayyapa among others, Valimai has Yuvan Shankar Raja for music and Nirav Shah for cinematography.
