Mysskin's long-awaited action thriller Train, starring Vijay Sethupathi, is reportedly targeting an August 28 theatrical release, according to sources close to the film. MovieCrow has exclusively learnt that the team is planning for the date, though an official announcement is yet to follow.

The news comes on the heels of the film's teaser and audio launch, which signalled an imminent release for the film that has been awaiting its theatrical outing since wrapping production in 2024. The teaser, which places Vijay Sethupathi in a high-stakes hostage rescue mission aboard a moving train, drew comparisons to Hollywood thrillers like The Taking of Pelham 123 and Snowpiercer, building strong anticipation for the film.

Directed by Mysskin, Train also stars Shruti Haasan, Narain, Sampath Raj, Nasser and KS Ravikumar. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under V Creations, the film has music composed by Mysskin himself, cinematography by Fowzia Fathima and editing by Sri Watson.
