Director Sarkunam's sequel to his 2010 super-hit film Kalvani is finally having a follow-up release titled Kalvani 2 (previously known as K2) and the film which was earlier scheduled for a release on June 28, 2019 will now hit theater screens on July 5, 2019. 

Kalavani 2 which starrs Vemal and Oviya in the lead will clash with Jyotika's Raatchasi at the box-office and will see Saranya Ponvannan reprise her role from the original. Produced by Varman Productions, the film has Velraj for cinematography and Ghibran for music.
