Kanna Laddu trumps Alex Pandian in North America

The box office collections for North America market (US and Canada) over the weekend has some surprises. Alex Pandian collections were disappointing with just $21,800 from 15 screens. While, Kannu Laddu Thinna Aasaiya is estimated to have collected $31,400 from 7 screens. Alex Pandian premiered on Thursday while KLTA released after 2 days on Saturday. Key theatres reported house full shows on Saturday in New Jersey and California for this Santhanam & Power Star combo. With Santhanam being the crowd puller in both the Pongal movies, it is safe to say Power Star scored against Karthi this Pongal. 

Due to lack of market for Vishal in the US and late announcement of release date, Samar did not release in the US and Canada. 

Telugu multi-starrer breaks US Box Office collections

Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh's Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is already termed a blockbuster hit in the US by collecting $1.4 Million from 98 screens. The movie is expected to become the biggest box office grosser for a Telugu movie in the US market.
