Kayadu Lohar and Priyanka Mohan have confirmed their casting in Mari Selvaraj's Manjanathi, the director's sixth film and first collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja. Actor Kadhir plays the male lead role. The announcement was made at Ilaiyaraaja's 50 Years Live Concert on Sunday. 

Kayadu described it as a dream project on Instagram, while Priyanka called it something she had been waiting to announce, expressing excitement for the new beginning. Both actresses are working with Mari Selvaraj for the first time. Rumours of a Vaazhai sequel connection continue to circulate, with speculation that the film follows Sivanainthan's story into his teens and youth, though the makers are yet to confirm anything officially.

Kayadu has a packed pipeline including I'm Game, Khalifa: The Intro, The Paradise, Idhayam Murali, and Immortal. Priyanka is currently working on Kavin 09 and 666 Operation Dream Theatre. Further details on Manjanathi's cast, crew, and release date are yet to be announced. The film is backed by Navvi Studios and Fortune Entertainment.
