Amaran: Rajinikanth urges to watch Sivakarthikeyan film for the Indian spirit

Amaran starring actor Sivkarthikeyan in the lead is a Kamal Haasan produced biopic on late Indian army Major, Mukund Varadarajan AC (P). The movie released in theaters on October 31, 2024 (Thursday), and has had a phenomenal Diwali run at the Tamil box-office.

Though Amaran is a Tamil film based on the life of a Chennai based Mukund V, the movie is an ode to the veterans of the Indian Army, and was released in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages too in the spirit of bringing the story to all Indians.

Superstar Rajinikanth recently highlighted this about the movie as well. Meeting team Amaran including producer R. Mahendran of Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), Amaran writer, director Rajkumar Periyasamy, star actor Sivakarthikeyan, and Amaran cinematographer CH Sai, Rajinikanth said in praise,

"I saw the Raaj Kamal produced Amaran on November 1, 2024. Firstly, no matter how much I praise Kamal Haasan (RKFI is Kamal Haasan's home banner), it is less. Because he decided to do the biopic of Mukund Varadarajan. My first praise to him for making the movie.

The way Rajkumar directed the film was so very fantastic, exceeding my expecations. There have so many war pictures, but taking one like Amaran was too too good.  And his (Rajkumar Periyasamy's) crew, his cameraman (CH Sai), editor (R Kalaivannan), music director (GV Prakash Kumar), the work that they've done is excellent.

Our Sivakarthikeyan, he had lived as Mukund Varadarajan's character. Amaran is going to be one of the best in SK's career. He has acted that good in Mukund's role. Even Sai Pallavi in Indhu's character. Both of them have done so well.

When I finished watching Amaran, I couldn't control my tears. The personal connect that I had with Amaran movie is that my second brother Nageshwar Rao Gaikwad was in the military artillery for 16 years. He was on field during the China war, got shot, took a bullet to his spine, and then voluntarily retired from service. So I felt a personal touch too.

Amaran is the film that everyone needs to watch. The amount of hardships Military men go through, if they don't protect us, none of us are safe. And the thing that Indhu's father said, I never wanted to accept to a marriage between my daughter and a military man but when I saw (Mukund V in) the uniform, I gave in. Everyone should see how it feels to witness a military warrior in uniform.

Now matter how much I praise Kamal Haasan, director Rajkumar Periyasamy, Sivakarthikeyan, cameraman CH Sai, executive producer R Mahendran, it is less. My hearty wishes to everyone involved in the making of Amaran.

Please everyone, do watch Amaran. This is actually, it invokes the spirit of being Indian. Amaran had been doing exceptionally well in theaters. Everyone should definitely watch Amaran. Great Mukund. Jai Hind. Salutes."
