AK 61 which has been buzzed to be titled Vallamai, is actor Ajith's third consecutive movie with director H. Vinoth and producers Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. The movie is currently in its last leg of filming and is soon expected to wrap. Latest we hear, the first look of AK 61/Vallamai  is all set to be unveiled in the second week of September, 2022. 

However unlike the film's previous plans of releasing during holiday seasons like Diwali,  Pongal or in-between in December, the movie will now release only post January 2023. The uncertainty in AK 61's release is attributed to several factors like lack of proper funding and Ajith taking personal time off, causing delay in shooting. 

It is worth mentioning here that this pattern was seen with Ajith's last two movies as well, which were also made by the same team. AK 61/Vallamai is touted to be a bank heist thriller and the movie is currently being shot at Hyderabad. The film has Ghibran for music and also stars Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, GM Sundar, Veera, John Kokken, Mahanadhi Shankar, Telugu actor Ajay, actress Pooja among others.
