Potential Studios produced Taanakkaran starring Vikram Prabhu in the lead is gearing up for a direct OTT release on Disney Plus Hotstar and latest we hear it will be coming out in the first week of December, 2021. The movie directed by Vetrimaaran's former AD Tamizh [whom many recognize as SI Gurumoorthy from Jai Bhim], is expected to premiere on December 3, 2021.

Based on true life events, Taanakkaran deals with hardships young trainees face at a police training camp. Vikram Prabhu plays a character who questions ruthless senior officers and ends up facing music for the same.

The movie has Ghibran for music and also stars Lal, Anjali Nair, MS Baskar among others.
