Dhanush's 56th film with Lubber Pandhu director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu is already generating curiosity online, even as the actor is currently wrapping up his 55th film Om in Malaysia. When a fan asked Tamizharasan on X if a D56 update would arrive on Dhanush's birthday, the director quipped, "It won't come brother. Any update on the film will only come after D55's release. If at all you want, I can share details on the costume designer — that's the strength I have for now."

The tongue-in-cheek response follows a similar earlier exchange where Tamizharasan had playfully revealed the art director's name as Veeramani Ganesan when pressed for updates. The director has also shared a recce photo from a village temple, hinting at a rural drama. Vijay Kumar of Uriyadi fame has hinted at joining the cast, with Rukmini Vasanth also speculated to be the female lead.

Meanwhile, Dhanush's pipeline extends well beyond Om and D56, with projects lined up with Vetri Maaran (Thamizh Murugan), Mari Selvaraj, and potential collaborations with PS Mithran and director Siva, alongside the long-anticipated Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam biopics.
