Jana Nayagan to Release Uncut in the UK - No CBFC Cuts for International Audiences

Jana Nayagan will release in the United Kingdom on July 24 in its uncut form, UK distributor Ahimsa Entertainment has announced. The H Vinoth directorial has been classified 15+ in the country, and Ahimsa confirmed it will be screened without any of the 12 cuts mandated by India's CBFC. "All the action, all the mass, all the Thalapathy craze, exactly as it was meant to be seen," the distributor wrote on X.

The announcement drew significant attention from fans online, with many expressing hope that the unaltered version would eventually be made available on streaming platforms as well.

In India, the film received an 'A' certificate from the CBFC after a prolonged seven-month certification battle that began when a member of the examining committee raised objections, triggering a referral to the revising committee. The film was originally slated for a January release ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections before being pushed indefinitely.

Jana Nayagan is now confirmed for a July 24 release across India and the UK. As Vijay's first release after assuming office as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, reports indicate his opening title card will read "The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay" rather than the familiar "Thalapathy Vijay." The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde.
