Team Thalapathy 65 are currently gearing up to begin their second schedule of shooting at Chennai and owing to malls being shut in the city, the crew is erecting sets of one. The COVID-19 surge in the city during the second wave of Coronavirus, made the state government shut down most public operations on April 26.

As a result, the makers of Thalapathy 65 are currently building a shopping mall set in Chennai, to shoot some main sequences. A Sun Pictures production, Thalapathy 65 is directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar and Vijay plays a con agent in the movie. Pooja Hegde plays female lead with Anirudh for music.
