Indian 2, actor Kamal Haasan's upcoming project with Shankar is expected to resume shooting from August 12, 2019 and it is being suggested that the film might be the second costliest production for Lyca after their mega-budgeted project 2.0. According to the buzz, Lyca Productions has planned Indian 2 at a whopping budget of Rs. 200 Cr.+, which comes next to their Rs. 500Cr+ Rajinikanth starrer. 

It is also being said that the team of Indian 2 which has names like Kajal Aggarwal, Vidyut Jamwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Aishwarya Rajesh among others will be shooting for the next 11 months, aiming for the film's release in 2021. The estimated release time reportedly is April, 2021 (most likely the Tamil New Years' holiday) and given the earlier delays, Shankar and team are expected to be completing post-production by March, 2021. 

Indian 2 has Anirudh for music, Rathnavelu for cinematography and Sreekar Prasad for the edits and will feature Kamal Haasan and Nedumudi Venu reprising their roles as Senapathy and Krishnaswamy from their hit prequel.
