We have known for a while now that the filming of Kamal Haasan's upcoming Indian 2 will begin in the second week of August, 2019 and latest update is that the team is planning to resume shooting from August 12, 2019. Reportedly, actor Siddharth who plays Senapathy's grand-son in the film will join the sets that same day while lead actor Kamal Haasan will do so by the end of that month.

Rakul Preet, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Kajal Aggarwal are also expected to be a part of this schedule, though there have been no official announcements on the same. 

Indian 2 is directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions with Anirudh for music. Recently, the film's old cinematographer Ravi Varman was replaced with Rathnavelu, leading to talks of the former moving on to one of Lyca's other films.
