CBI Officer Krishnaswamy back in Indian 2 & other latest updates!

Ever since director Shankar and Kamal Haasan announced Indian 2, a sequel to their 1996 hit movie Indian, curiosity has surrounded around the cast and the story of the film. And in a recent public event, Kamal Haasan might have just satisfied both. Haasan announced that National award winning actor Nedumudi Venu who had played the role of Krishaswamy, the bureau officer on the hunt for 'killer' Senathipathi in Indian, will be returning to the sequel film.

Speculations are also rife that Kamal will be seen in a dual role in Indian 2, if Ajay Devgn whom Shankar had approached for  a younger character in the movie, does not take it up. There is also a talk that while the prequel film had corrupt practices in government offices as the background, Indian 2 will focus more on the loop-holes in the political system.

Currently, the film is in the process of being scripted with Kabilan Vairamuthu, Lakshmi Saravanakumar and Jayamohan overseeing the same, while it plans to begin shooting in December, 2018. Shankar and art director T. Muthuraj are also said to be working on a film set to be put up at Ramoji film city at Hyderabad.

Nayanthara plays the female lead of this movie, which is a production venture of Lyca Productions and will have music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Ravi Varman and lyrics by Thamarai.
