2Point0: India's costliest film in Top 10 of world's most expensive non-English Films!

Director Shankar's upcoming film 2.0 is the cynosure of a lot of eyes right now and with hardly 10 days left for the film to hit theater screens, anticipators are getting their hands on everything possible on it pre-release.

While it is a known fact that 2.0, with its approximate budget of Rs. 550 crore ($75 million) is the country's most expensive film, a little known fact about the movie is that it is the only film from India to feature in the top 10 list of costliest non-English movies of the world.

2.0 is at No. 9 in the top 10 list of most expensive non- English films and is among the eight Asian films to be ranked on that list. This is a huge leap for Indian film rankings, for Thugs of Hindostan (Hindi) and Saaho (Telugu) which stand next to 2.0 budget-wise ($46 million) are at No. 28 position of the highly budgeted non-English films worldwide.

Indian Films which feature in the top 50 list of the most expensive non-English movies and their respective budgets and rankings are listed below:

  1. 2.0 (Tamil) - $75 Million - No. 9
  2. Thugs of Hindostan (Hindi) - $46 Million - No. 28
