Superstar Rajinikanth's much awaited Kaala hit the screens worldwide today (June 7) except in Karnataka. The film has opened to positive reviews from all quarters. While there is so much celebration going on all around the world for Kaala's release, Thalaivar fans have yet another good news to rejoice. 

Rajinikanth has started shooting for his next film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Sun Pictures who is bankrolling the project took to their Twitter page to share a picture from the sets.

According to reports, the team has planned a month long shoot in Darjeeling. The team will be shooting at various spots in Kurseong first. After Kurseong, the shooting will take place at various spots like Eastern Forest Rangers College, St Paul's School, Mount Hermon and the surrounding areas in Darjeeling. 

Rajinikanth, reached Darjeeling via Siliguri, West Bengal yesterday and then went to Darjeeling by road. Superstar will be camping in the hills for more than a month for the film's shoot. 

Vijay Sethupathi is reportedly playing the villain in the film. Simran is said to be the forerunner for the leading lady. Anirudh will be scoring the music for the first time for Rajinikanth's film. Recently a photo-shoot with the film's team took place at the Sun Network office.
