Only yesterday we came to you with the news of the film 2.0 possibly pushing its release date (read about it here). Now, industry talks suggest that the Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar starrer will hit theatre screens during Tamil New Year (April 13, 2018), which is the next big holiday after the initially planned republic day weekend.
However an official confirmation on the same is still awaited from Lyca Productions, the film's producers. A leading portal has even quoted a "source" from the productions' side as follows :

"As of now, we are entirely on track for 25 January, 2018 release as informed earlier. The CG work is currently underway in eleven countries, and our VFX teams are working round the clock to meet the deadline,"

2.0, the Shankar directorial recently had a grand audio launch at Dubai with the entire team present. The 400 crore budgeted film which has Amy Jackson playing the female lead, is expecting a teaser launch next month. i.e November 22, 2017.
