Director Ajay Gnanamuthu shared a deeply personal and emotional note for actor-politician Vijay on the eve of polling day for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, where Vijay is making his electoral debut under his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.

Taking to Instagram, the Demonte Colony director expressed that his love for Vijay defies logic. Recalling how his closest friendships were forged over two decades ago through a fan club they started together for the superstar, Gnanamuthu wrote with raw emotion — thanking Vijay for being his childhood, his first idol, and his one and only superstar.

While acknowledging the bittersweet reality of no longer seeing Vijay on screen, the director signed off with a warm blessing — wishing his thalaivan protection, happiness, and success in his new innings.

Vijay is contesting from two constituencies — Tiruchirappalli East and Perambur — in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, with results due on May 4.
