On the occasion of Vikram's birthday, the makers unveiled the director of his much-awaited next, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63 — and it's a reunion fans didn't see coming. Anand Shankar, who last collaborated with Vikram on the 2016 action thriller Iru Mugan, is back in the director's chair a decade later.

A short promotional video released alongside the announcement gives a fascinating peek into Vikram's character — a chef who finds himself in the crosshairs of a dangerous gang. However, a voiceover hint in the promo suggests that his character has a dark side of his own, with gangster undertones adding to the intrigue. Anand Shankar has penned the screenplay, with dialogues handled by Shan Karuppusamy.

On the music front, Santhosh Narayanan reunites with Vikram after their acclaimed collaboration on Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan. The technical crew includes cinematographer RD Rajasekar ISC, editor Raymond Derrick Crasta, production designer Rajeevan, and art director Surya Rajeevan.

Chiyaan 63 is being bankrolled by TG Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, with Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan as producers, and G Saravanan and Sai Siddharth serving as co-producers.
