In a rare pre-release post on X, Dhanush wrote, “Vignesh Raja - You Genius. Thank you for Kara,” a gesture that has caught attention given how seldom the actor shares such endorsements. The filmmaker responded by thanking Dhanush for his support.


Directed by Vignesh Raja, Kara is set in 1991 against the backdrop of the Gulf War, unfolding over 16 days amid a fuel crisis. The film is billed as an emotional suspense thriller with strong dramatic elements.


The ensemble cast includes Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram.
