According to our sources, the yet-untitled film is set to be a female-centric story, with Bollywood star Mrunal Thakur being eyed for the lead role. The project is said to be set against the backdrop of the 1960s–70s era, pointing towards a rich period drama that could showcase a completely new visual side of Dhanush as a filmmaker.

The film is expected to go on floors soon, with Dhanush likely bankrolling the project under his own production banner, Wunderbar Films — though an official announcement is yet to be made.
