Sun Pictures updated on Friday that the shooting of their upcoming movie Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead, has officially begun. Shruthi Haasan who was earlier buzzed to be a part of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Coolie, has now confirmed her casting by dropping a selfie from day 1 of Coolie shooting. The selfie is no longer up on the actress' Instagram stories. 

Coolie marks the maiden collaboration of Rajinikanth with writer, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, and actress Shruthi Haasan. Coolie also marks the reunion of Jailer (2023) trio Rajini, music composer Anirudh and production house Sun Pictures, after their hit outing with the movie last year. 

Coolie also reunites actors Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj after 38 years; The actors last shared screen space in the famous movie Mr. Bharat (1986). The tehcnical crew of Coolie also includes Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, Anbariv for stunts, Philomin Raj for edits, Sathees Kumar for production design, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Chandhru Anbazhagan for dialogues, Chandhru Anbazhagan for additional screenplay, Praveen Raja for costume design, Gopi Prasanna for publicity design among others.

Coolie is schedule to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada languages.
