In the ongoing ensemble reveal of upcoming Tamil film Raayan - written, directed and lead by actor Dhanush, Saravanan is the latest artiste to be unveiled with a character poster. A lead actor from the 90s, Saravanan reinvented himself as a character artiste starting Parthuthiveeran (2007), and has since appeared alongside a number of current lead stars from the Tamil film industry.

Raayan is scheduled to release in 2024 in Tamil, Telugu (dubbed) and Hindi (dubbed) languages. A Sun Pictures production with AR Rahman for music, Raayan also stars Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, SJ Suryah, Dushara Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan among others.
