Actor Siddharth who hails from Tamil Nadu, is a well known face across the Indian film industry. His recent release Chithha is a Tamil movie which highlights an important social issue, and the actor- producer was in Bengaluru to promote the same. However in a video that is currently going viral on social media, actor Siddharth is seen forced to leave his Bengaluru press meet, after a pro-Kannadiga outfit created a ruckus over 'a Tamil actor' promoting his movie in Karnataka amidst the resurged Cauvery water dispute.
In the video, the group of protesting men are seen barging into the press event and heard saying, "Cauvery protests are taking place. Is this [event) needed now?...Don't you all drink Cauvery water? We haven't come to give an order, we are making an appeal. You too come protest on the streets”

Kannadigas who were only recently seen united with the Tamils, jointly celebrating the release and success of Jailer starring Rajinikanth and Kannada star Shivarajkumar, went antagonistic towards the Tamils (once again) on September 21, 2023. It is because on that Thursday, the Supreme Court ordered the Congress-led Karnataka government to release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.
