Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, a 2006 Tamil movie starring Kamal Haasan in the lead recently had a re-release of its re-mastered version in Tamil Nadu. Despite being a 17 year old movie, the film is running to packed theaters and the bygone weekend especially saw a housefull booking of tickets. Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, and among Tamil cine-enthusiasts he is known to be a true blue 'Kamal Haasan fan-boy' for not just giving the actor a runaway hit but also showcasing the Ulaganayagan at his on-screen best. 

Another Tamil filmmaker who shares the 'Kamal Haasan fan-boy' tag is director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who recently gave Vikram (2022) with the star actor. Citing the housefull shows for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu that has extended into week 2, a fan online humoured that maybe Gautham Menon is the unbeatable Kamal Haasan fan. To this, Lokesh replied,

Gautham Menon who is currently part of Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Leo (Menon plays one of the villains in the Vijay starrer), was quick to level the playfield and tweeted,
