Indian 2, the long awaited sequel to Kamal Haasan, Shankar's 1996 superhit Indian is gearing up for its next schedule of shooting. Reportedly this schedule will take place at Los Angeles in USA and will go on for a period of 10 days. At this time, it has also been revealed that actor SJ Suryah has played the main antagonist in Indian 2. 

SJ Suryah, a former filmmaker himself first made a screen appearance in a Shankar movie with a cameo role in the 3 Idiots (2009) remake Nanban (2012). SJ Suryah is also playing antagonist in director Shankar's upcoming Telugu film Game Changer. Indian 2 is the actor's third movie with Shankar and he has already completed shooting his portions in the film.

A production venture of Lyca Productions, Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, Indian 2 is a multi-starrer with Anirudh for music. Latest update also is that the movie might hit theater screens for Pongal in January, 2024.
