Suriya 42 (tentative title) is a big budget fantasy genre movie starring actor Suriya in the lead. The film is directed by Siva and produced by UV Creations, Studio Green. Previously, MovieCrow had reported that the Suriya 42's title will be revealed with a promo video on Tamil New Year day i.e. April 14, 2023. Now film's producer Gnanavel Raja has confirmed the same, and added that the film's official release date will also be announced with the promo video.

Gnanavel Raja in an interview (video below) has also updated that Suriya 42's teaser will be unveiled in May, 2023. MovieCrow further learns that Suriya 42 will be releasing in theaters for Pongal in January 2024.

Made at a budget three times that of an average Suriya film, Suriya 42 has Disha Patani playing female lead and Devi Sri Prasad for music. The film which includes a 1000-year old backstory, is scheduled to release in 3D in 10 different languages. Suriya 42 will see Suriya in 5 different roles namely Arathar, Venkaater, Mukaatar, Mandaankar and Perumanathar.
