Latest update about Ajith's next project AK 62 (tentative title) is that director Vignesh Shivan will no longer be directing it. AK 62 is Ajith's upcoming after Thunivu and Lyca Productions is backing this project with Anirudh for music and Netflix as its OTT partner.

Vignesh Shivan's script for Ajith seems to be taking time in getting finalized so buzz is that this project will become AK 63 instead of AK 62. While an official announcement awaits, it remains to be seen who ends up as the director of AK 62 next.

[Update: February 1, 2023]: Vignesh Shivan is no longer directing Ajith in AK 62 or AK 63. The makers of AK 62 i.e. Lyca Productions are said to have brought director Magizh Thirumeni on board, though an official announcement on the same awaits.
