Actor Karthi's presence in Ponniyin Selvan: Part One was the highest praised performance of the movie by the Tamil audience, and while the film is still going strong in theaters, the actor is gearing up for another release titled Sardar. A quick SWOT analysis of the spy action thriller that releases in theaters tomorrow (October 21, 2022) follows:

Strengths

• The promo videos of Sardar reveal that Karthi has truly pushed boundaries, experimenting with multiple looks in the film. The actor's versatile screen presence is the biggest strength, right off the bat. 

• Thrillers and societal themes are director PS Mithran's forte and despite Sardar being only his third film, the filmmaker has ample experience handling big productions. 

• Sardar comes with interesting movie-buff incentives like actress Laila's comeback, Bollywood villain Chunky Pandey's Tamil debut, rarely seen Yugi Sethu's screen presence among other things. 

Weakness

• Despite being a Diwali release, buzz surrounding Sardar seems un-optimized. Promotions were average and it felt like the trailer almost gave away the entire story.  

Opportunities

• Sardar's Diwali release means it gets a four-day holiday opening. Good word of mouth could set the cash registers ringing for the movie. 

Threats 

• Ticket prices this Diwali season start from Rs. 190 instead of Rs. 120 and they are expected to be priced as such in the first four opening days. This has already disgruntled a lot of movie-goers in Tamil Nadu.

• Added to this, Sardar will be facing Sivakarthikeyan starrer Prince at the box-office. Karthi's own PS-I going strong in theaters and movie tickets for Ponniyin Selvan 1 being available for Rs. 120, isn't helping Sardar's cause either.
