Viruman starring Karthi, Aditi Shankar is expected to hit theater screens worldwide on Vinayagar Chaturthi holiday, which means a 5-day opening weekend for the movie in India. However latest buzz suggests that the film might release earlier on August 11, 2022 since Vikram starrer Cobra is now postponed from that date.

Additionally we hear that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post theatrical streaming rights of the Viruman which is directed by M. Muthaiah. Initially reports suggested that Viruman's OTT rights was grabbed by Disney Plus Hotstar. Official announcements on all these updates await. 

Viruman is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Sakthi Film Factory. The film has Yuvan Shankar Raja for music and Sony Music South holds the audio rights.
