While Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) was a remake of Pink (2016) and Valimai (2022) had inspirations from the Jackie Chan starrer New Police Story, AK 61 - Ajith's third movie with director H.Vinoth will also not be an original. It is being said that AK 61 is an adaptation of a Hollywood movie about a bank robbery.

AK 61 (tentative title) is said to have gone on floors today with a pooja ceremony but an official announcement on the same is yet to be made. The movie is producer Boney Kapoor's third consecutive film with actor Ajith, director H. Vinoth and he is expected to unveil the film's title, cast and crew soon.

AK 61 will be shot at Chennai and Hyderabad and plans to wrap quicker than Valimai. Actors Kavin, Aditi Rao Hydari play an important roles in the movie and it has Ghibran for music, Nirav Shah for cinematography.
