The makers of Ajith's Valimai have confirmed that the movie will be releasing in theaters for Pongal in January, 2022 and MovieCrow had previously reported that Sun Pictures' Etharkkum Thinindhavan (ET) starring Suriya in the lead, is also looking at the festival slot as one of its possible release dates. 

Now we hear, the following dates have been fixed as possible release timelines, for these said movies. 

• Valimai - January 13, 2022 (Thursday)
• ET - January 14, 2022 (Friday)

An official confirmation on the same is however awaited. Valimai directed by H. Vinoth is an action thriller where as Etharkkum Thunindhavan is an action drama from director Pandiraj. While Boney Kapoor's production has waited long for release, ET began filming this year and recently wrapped shooting.
